Oh, and you don't have to break your Mandarin-only pledge for me; I can understand the gist of what you are saying because of Japanese. I just not know how to respond in Mandarin!
I leave this Tuesday - until then, English is kosher. It's depressing, I took Japanese for a year and a half and now when I try and speak/type it I can only think of things to say in Chinese.

I had this weird dream last night where I was at some Chinese family's house and I used the word 不分, which doesn't exist in Japanese. I pronounced it in Japanese as "fu-bun" but I was using it as though it were a Chinese word. It was really strange. Does 不分 make sense in Chinese? Something like "does not divide" I guess...
Anyway, I'm going to keep following your blog, and good luck!

To my knowledge, it'd mean about the same in Chinese.
...Upon using google translation, apparently it means "regardless of" !
From Chicago to Beijing it's about a fourteen hour flight. No fun.
